These days, I hope this is the last cold wave of this spring. It's especially cold today. To give you an idea of how cold it is, the staff are constantly shhhhing when there are no guests around. They're shhhing next to me as I quietly steer the boat inside the cabin of the Brenz (which is fairly quiet), so it's quite distracting, and if you listen closely, it sounds strange.
It's so cold in Miyakojima.

Today's Twin Cave. It's always better to have clear skies, but even if it's cold and cloudy, the terrain is beautiful and always there. The visibility in Miyakojima is always good, and the contrast between blue and black is actually better on cloudy days.
This March, rather than three cold days and four warm days, it seems more like five cold days and two warm days. There will still be cold days throughout April, so we have prepared boat coats for everyone. All you need to do is bring a hoodie, sweatshirt, or fleece with you to the boat, so you can stay comfortable! Don't worry, so be prepared!!
Amazing when it's sunny! The terrain of Miyakojima in early spring
It gets really hot on days with temperatures reaching 2 degrees Celsius, which can be summer days. Every spot is sparkling and you can see the best views from each spot.
Early Spring Demon King's Palace

On a clear, sunny day, the rays of light filtering through the leaves of early spring trees shine down like the summer sun. Lately, the weather has been five cold days and two warm days, so the odds aren't good at all, but sometimes I try my best.
I've been able to consistently go to the Demon King's Palace, which has been requested by many people, but last week I only managed about 1 win and 3 losses due to the sunlight. If you weren't able to see this light this time, please make another request.

The schools of hatanpo fish in the main hall of the Demon King's Palace are getting bigger, making it a great place to see and take photos! There is a high chance that you will be visiting the Shimojishima area, including the Demon King's Palace, in April, so if you are planning to visit the island in the future, please look forward to it.
"Whenever I can, I will definitely go to the Demon King's Palace."
Sorry for the extra characters!
What happened? March, the end of the manta ray season
There hasn't been a single manta ray sighting since the last one on March 3th. Even in the area around Irabu Island, where there is a high probability of seeing one, there isn't a single sign of one, and they are nowhere to be found even when the water is calm.
I haven't seen any plankton, the type that manta rays like, and it seems that the ocean currents that bring manta rays may have already diverged from Miyako Island.
All that's left now is to rely on luck and hope for an underwater encounter!
All things considered, I feel like this was a good season to see them. There are years when you can't see any at all, but compared to those, I was able to see almost all of the manta rays during the Manta Festival.

"This is my first time seeing a manta ray!!!"
I heard a lot of comments like this and saw a lot of smiling faces. Manta rays are not just big creatures. Their graceful swimming is sublime, like a giant bird god. The manta rays flying near the surface, bathed in light, are especially special.
There's only one week left in March, when the whales' songs resonate
The whales were so loud that it seemed as if they were still there today. Apparently, the whales from Okinawa's main island have already started to return to Alaska, so it's likely that the same is true for the whales that come to Miyakojima.
When the whales' songs die down, a new season begins.

Starting this year, the boat team and the beach team are separate teams, so they're having a lot of fun, complaining about things like not having enough equipment or not having enough cars, and they're also racking their brains to come up with ideas.
However, it is still only the second half of March. All staff will work together to do their best to prepare so that we can welcome even more guests by summer, so please come and visit us.

All our staff are waiting for you with smiles like this!
It's the change of seasons, so please take care of yourself. See you next time!
