Hello. It's Totti, the Public Relations Manager again today. This time of year, even with two dives starting at 13:30pm, the sunset is at its best on the way back. It gets dark earlier now.

The origin of the name Queen's Room

Today I'd like to talk about the origins of the names of the points. Most of the time, the discoverer is the one who gives them the name, and there are many interesting names with different meanings, such as the Devil's Palace, Antonio Gaudi, and Thank You Cows!

requestIf the Demon King is the male equivalent, then the Queen is the female equivalent! This place isn't as famous as the Demon King, but the quality of the terrain is just as impressive and it's incredibly popular!

The charm of the Queen's Chamber

First of all, the size of each room is huge. It is a dynamic topography that is comparable in size to the three most famous diving spots on Miyakojima.

There are five openings inside the cave, and light comes in through them, making it perfect for photos, and it also has a great visual impact! At its deepest point, it's 35m below sea level, so be careful not to decompress and take air. It's a fascinating place, not only in terms of topography but also in terms of macro. And it turns out that a creature known as the queen reigns supreme!

The name "starry wall shrimp" was only proposed about 4 or 5 years ago, and before that it was considered to be the same species as the Ortmann's wall shrimp, which is only found north of Kyushu.

Many underwater creatures have names that aren't particularly romantic, so I was shocked when the name of this shrimp was announced. What a wonderful name. This shrimp lives in dark places, and when you shine a light on it, the dots on its legs float up like a starry sky. I could easily imagine what it meant without even having to look it up.

And this queen must really love this cave, because even if a host collapses or dies in a typhoon, she always moves to a nearby location and rarely leaves. Although she was away for a while a few years ago, she was already there ten years ago when I came to Miyakojima. I don't know how long she will live, but I'm sure she will continue to live here through generations!

It's hard to suddenly change your viewpoint to macro from a super wide point, but it's an interesting shrimp, so I hope you'll take your time to look at it! That was my introduction to the Queen's Room and the Queen herself. This is a very easy spot to visit from now on, so please request it!!

Wow, I really dived!
The sea conditions are good so it's fun!

Nice holiday! Big holiday!
Oh my, it's already 20:06pm. The day goes by so quickly.
See you tomorrow~
