The scenery resembles a cabbage field.

A large colony of Ryukyu Kikka coral and Ryumon coral spreads across the area at a depth of around 30m, creating a cabbage field-like landscape. Colourful branching corals grow in the shallow areas, and there are a considerable number of fish. Every year in early spring, the Japanese hornet spawns here, and in summer you may be able to see the eggs hatch.

The highlight is the very rare coral

The highlight of the spot is the very rare coral known as the Porphyrocorax scleractinianus. This coral lives at depths of over 15m and is quite large, making it perfect for wide-angle photography. Turtles are also often seen here. This is just one large coral. It grows very little each year, so considering the size of this Porphyrocorax scleractinianus, it is thought to be over 1,000 years old.

Miyakojima's best open ocean big game spot

It is named after the arch in the shallow waters, but the main fish here are large ones, and the chances of encountering them are quite high. All the big fish you can see in Okinawa can be seen here, including giant trevally, dogtooth tuna, sharks, turtles, Napoleon fish, various rays, and manta rays. This is Miyakojima's best open-ocean spot for big fish, even though the current can be quite strong at times.

You can also expect to see Napoleon and dogtooth tuna, and if you time it right, manta rays. The current can be strong at times.

A tugboat wandering the ocean floor

The tugboat is now 70 meters away from where it was originally sunk, and it still wanders the ocean floor. On average, the water is always clear, but there is always a current. The cabin has now collapsed, and other areas are badly damaged, so the shape of the boat changes every time I visit. Real "Umeiro" fish live offshore.

    Colorful and gorgeous healing spot

It boasts the most colorful scenery of any beach in Yaebiji, and is especially beautiful near the surface at a depth of around 5m. It is home to many orange anthias and blue damselfish, making it a truly relaxing place. There is also a current, so colorful sea ferns line the water and are caught by the tide. This gorgeous spot is a relaxing contrast to the topography of Irabu Island and Shimoji Island.

The goldenrod is so big that it covers the large roots.

There are so many fish that you can swim around one rock for 15 minutes, and the number of golden-spotted scorpions is the highest of any spot near Miyakojima. They are so large that they cover the large rocks. There is no current and the water is about XNUMXm deep, making this a great spot for leisurely fish watching.

Colorful branch corals that look like they came out of a picture book

The colorful colonies of branching corals, like those in picture books, spread all over the place. They grow in colonies at depths of less than 5m, so the colors stand out clearly and you can take beautiful photos and videos. When the water is calm, you can also try taking photos with the water surface facing downwards.
